Nikki Moore’s MS thesis defense on Baker petrology

Nikki Moore is defending her Masters thesis project at WWU:

“Title: Origin and geochemical evolution of mafic magmas from Mount Baker in the northern Cascade arc, Washington: probes into mantle and crustal processes”

When: March 12th, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in Environmental Studies Room 100 WWU

Nikki’s thesis research looks into how basaltic magma is generated at Baker.  All are invited. Come support Nikki after three years of dedicated effort to learn more about what makes Mount Baker tick.

Nikki looks for evidence of magma mingling at Park Butte.
