A TV feature on MBVRC’s Sherman Crater gas sampling project airs on Daily Planet (Canadian Discovery Channel) tomorrow (Friday) August 30. Daily Planet airs at 4 AM and 4 PM (on the west coast). The Sherman Crater segment is around 15 minutes of the program. The program will be available on-line: Watch for the link to that in coming days. UPDATE- this is airing on the Canadian Discovery Channel ONLY. The rest of us will have to watch it on the web next week.

In July, Daily Planet producer Sean McShane and cameraman Al Leader joined our volunteer gas crew for the trek to the crater (read about that trip here). They employed two American Alpine Institute guides, Britt Ruegger and Jared Drapala, to help haul the 50 pound TV camera plus camp and mountain gear to base camp, then to the crater and back the next. The MBVRC crater crew were Doug McKeever, Lora Beatty, Dick Tucker, Mike Crowley, and Matheau Corris. Dave Tucker remained in camp due to illness.
